Christine NYIRANSHIMIYIMANA
An experienced legal and corporate governance professional with over 15 years of experience in regulatory frameworks, public administration, and institutional development. She currently serves as Legal and Company Secretary at the East Africa Exchange (EAX), where she advises senior management and the Board on legal strategy, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Christine has held key leadership roles in Rwanda’s public and financial sectors, including Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Registrar of Land Titles for Kigali City at the National Land Authority, and Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager at the Capital Market Authority. In these roles, she contributed to policy development, market regulation, and strengthening governance systems, enhancing transparency, investor confidence, and operational efficiency. She holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial Law from the University of Cape Town, a Diploma in Legal Practice from ILPD, and a Diploma in Legislative Drafting from ILI. She was also a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at American University Washington College of Law, specializing in commercial dispute resolution. Christine is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a certified court-annexed mediator, and an experienced trainer. She is passionate about institutional strengthening and advancing effective governance frameworks across Africa.
